Destination to be covered

Kolkata: Kolkata is the capital of the Indian state of West Bengal. It is also the commercial capital of East India, located on the east bank of the Hooghly River. The city of Kolkata has 4.5 million residents, and the metropolitan area, including suburbs, has a population of approximately 15.7 million, making it the third most populous metropolitan area in India and the 13th most populous urban area in the world. The city is also classified as the eighth largest urban agglomeration in the world.

Kolkata was the capital of India during British emperor. The city's documented history, however, begins with the arrival of the English East India Company in 1690, when the Company was consolidating its trade business in Bengal. Job Charnock, an administrator with the company was traditionally credited as the founder of the city. In 2003 high court order states that the city should not have a specific founder. While the city's name was always pronounced "Kolkata" in the local Bengali language, its official English name was changed from "Calcutta" to "Kolkata" in 2001, reflecting the Bengali pronunciation. Some view this as a move to erase the legacy of British rule.

Bagdogra: Bagdogra is a small hill station in Darjeeling district of West Bengal. This small hill town is one of the most quiet and peaceful locations to spend some quality time with a loved one or an adventurous trip with a group of friends. Bagdogra has very limited tourist attractions however there are a few which have caught the eye of the traveler while visiting this heavenly place. There are quite a few places to see in Bagdogra that are also an integral part of Bagdogra tourist attractions. The Coronation Bridge was named so as it was built to honour the coronation of King George V. This is one the oldest monuments of Bagdogra as it was built in 1930. From here the tourist can view the amalgamation of two important rivers of North Bengal- River Teesta and River Rangeet.

Darjelling: Darjeeling conjures visions of snow peaks, serenity of vibrant green hills steeped in splendor, a land of breathtaking beauty crowned by the majestic Himalayas. Darjeeling is one of the most magnificent hill resorts in the world. This heavenly retreat is bathed in hues of every shade. Flaming red rhododendrons, sparkling white magnolias, miles of undulating hillsides covered with emerald green tea bushes, the exotic forests of silver fir - all under the blanket of a brilliant azure sky dappled with specks of clouds, compellingly confounds Darjeeling as the QUEEN OF HILL STATIONS. The crest of Kanchenjunga shining in the first dawn light truly supports the title.

Darjeeling beckons thousands today for a leisurely respite from the bustle of the madding crowd. The traveler - whether a tourist or a trekker, an ornithologist or a photographer, a botanist or an artist - will find in Darjeeling an experience which will remain etched in the memory - forever.

Gangtok: Gangtok, tucked beneath the shadow of the Kanchenjunga Range, is one of the alluring hill stations in India that is located in the North-Eastern state, Sikkim. It is also the capital of the state as well as the major commercial hub. The mighty hill station brings forth a unique fusion of culture that is dwelling over the years. Our Gangtok holiday packages not only offer you to acquaint the natural ambiance and the vicinity of Gangtok but also allow you to explore the ethnical blend of the Nepalis, Bhutias and Lepchas. Gangtok and its vicinity also boast many ancient monasteries that reflect back to the historical era. Nonetheless the mighty town was once a major stop over on the trade route between Lhasa in Tibet and India. Our Gangtok tour packages will drive you to the Nathu La Pass, which is one of the highest mountain passes of the world and also acts as a major ground on the ancient trade route.

Phuntsoling: The frontier town, it is a thriving commercial centre, situated directly at the base of Himalayan foothills. It is a fascinating place where different ethnic groups mingle prominently Indian, Bhutanese and Nepalese. Being the border town, Phuentsholing serves as the convenient entry/exit point for Bhutan and also the important link to visit the Indian state of West Bengal, Sikkim and Assam.

Thimphu: The capital town of Bhutan and the centre of government, religion and commerce, Thimphu is a unique city with unusual mixture of modern development alongside ancient traditions. Although not what one expects from a capital city, Thimphu is still a fitting and lively place. Home to civil servants, expatriates and monk body, Thimphu maintains a strong national character in its architectural style.

Punakha: Punakha served as the capital of Bhutan until and still it is the winter seat of Je Khenpo (the chief abbot). Blessed with temperate climate and owing to its natural drainage from Pho Chhu (male) and Mo Chhu (female) rivers, the Punakha valley produces abundant crops and fruits. There are splendid views of the distant Himalayas at Dochula pas (alt. 3,050m) on Thimphu – Punakha road.

Paro : The beautiful valley of Paro encapsulates within itself a rich culture, scenic beauty and hundreds of myths and legends. It is home to many of Bhutan's oldest temples and monasteries, National Museum and country's only airport. Mount. Chomolhari (7,314m) reigns in white glory at the northern end of the valley and its glacial water plunge through deep gorges to form Pa Chhu (Paro River). Paro is also one of the most fertile valley in the Kingdom producing a bulk of the locally famous red rice from its terraced fields.
